Colder than Here

8th - 10th July at the Headgate Theatre

Nobody can ignore the fact that Myra is dying, but in the meantime life goes on. There are boilers to be fixed, cats to be fed and the perfect funeral to be planed. As a mother researches burial plots and biodegradable coffins, her family are forced to communicate with her, and each other, as they face up to an unpredictable future.

Laura Wade's beautifully poised family drama was first performed at the Soho Theatre, London in 2005 and she won the Critics Circle Award for Most Promising Playwright. Her most recent play "Posh" played to full houses at the Royal Court Theatre, London in May this year.

Box Office is now open. Call 01206 366000 for your tickets. £8 and £6.

AGM 2010

held on Monday 22nd March.

Colchester Theatre Group was formed in 1953 and since then has mounted over 120 productions.

Each year we stage 3 or more productions, now mostly at the Headgate Theatre. Variety is the key to our choice of plays.

Our members take on the many roles and tasks that theatre requires – acting, directing, set construction, lighting, sound, front-of-house, costumes, publicity, properties and, last but not least, prompt.

We have celebrated many successes within our local theatre guild and several of our members have gone on to drama school and careers in the theatre.
