About

Colchester Theatre Group was formed in 1953 and has been putting on plays ever since.

We currently perform at the Headgate Theatre and rehearse in the Bunting Rooms, just round the corner.

We aim to put on three full length plays a year, plus workshops, one act plays and rehearsed readings.

The group has a committee who meet to organise the programme for each year, and members are encouraged to contribute to this process. A newsletter keeps members up to date on events.

Although we occasionally produce plays which call for actors under the age of 18, we would not expect them to join the group unless specifically cast.

Our audition notices will appear on the website and we invite anyone under the age of 18 to check it from time to time to see if there is an opportunity for them to audition.
